Refund and Cancellation Policy

Version 1.0 · effective 30 October 2026

How to cancel an Ingenious Nexus subscription and when we refund. This policy adds to, and never reduces, any rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECT Act).

1. Demo

The 14-day demo needs no payment, so there is nothing to refund. If you don't choose a plan, the account simply closes when the demo ends.

2. Cancelling a subscription

  • Cancel any time under Settings → Plan & billing → Cancel subscription, or by contacting us.
  • Your plan stays active until the end of the period you've paid for, then it isn't renewed and the account closes. You can undo the cancellation and keep your plan until that date.
  • No cancellation fee is charged.
  • Add-ons (HR, Payroll) can be removed the same way. They keep working until the end of the period already paid for and aren't charged after that.
  • After closure your records are kept for the retention periods in our Privacy Policy. Ask us for an export before or after closing.

3. When we refund

  • Cooling-off for first purchases. If you are a consumer under the ECT Act and cancel within 7 days of paying your first subscription invoice, we refund that payment in full.
  • Yearly plans. If you cancel a yearly plan during its first 30 days, we refund the unused months. After that, the plan runs to the end of the year.
  • Duplicate payments and overpayments are refunded in full, or credited to your next invoice if you prefer.
  • Incorrect charges (wrong plan, wrong amount, charged after cancelling) are corrected with a refund or credit as soon as we confirm the error.
  • Service interruptions. If the service is unavailable for more than 24 hours in a row because of a problem on our side, ask us and we'll credit the affected days.
  • Material changes. If we materially reduce what your plan includes during a paid period, you may cancel and receive a pro-rata refund of the unused period.

Monthly plans cancelled after the cooling-off period aren't refunded for the rest of the month already paid, but stay usable until it ends.

4. How to ask for a refund

Contact us: use the contact form on our website or write to us at the address above. Include your business name, the invoice number (e.g. SUB-0001) and the bank details to refund into. We'll confirm within two business days and pay approved refunds by EFT within 10 business days. Every refund or credit is recorded against the invoice concerned.

5. Complaints

If you're unhappy with how we dealt with a request, tell us and we'll review it. You may also approach the National Consumer Commission where the CPA applies.
